A Conway teen was charged Monday in connection with a 17-year-old girl being sexually assaulted and held against her will last week, according an Horry County police report.

Kahmil Kevy Cooper, 19, was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 12:40 p.m. Monday on charges of first-degree assault and battery, first-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping, according to jail records. Cooper is being held pending a bond hearing.

In the police report, Horry County officers were called Friday to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center’s emergency room after the victim sought treatment there. The victim had been reported missing by her family when she did not return home Wednesday.

The victim told police she posted a photo on a social media network Cooper picked her up to go shopping at 7 a.m. Wednesday, but instead he asked her about the photo and then began to assault her, according to the report. The victim said Cooper took her to his home, assaulted her and refused to allow her to leave.

The victim said Cooper also posted a video of the assault on his social media networking site, according to the report. The victim said she convinced Cooper to take her to the hospital to be treated for an injury to her face and was able to alert authorities there.
