Ballots are set: local, state candidates file for election

Time is up for candidates to get their names on the ballot for the June primary election, but there’s still time to register to vote.

Filing for candidates closed at noon on Sunday. Candidates without opposition in their party will not appear on the ballot in June, but those positions will be decided in the Nov. 4 general election.

To vote, residents must be registered by May 10, a month ahead of the June 10 primary. Registration can be completed at the Horry County office of voters registration and elections located at 1515 Fourth Avenue in Conway. For more information, call 915-5440.
