Deputies in Georgetown County are investigating a burglary at the Pee Dee Grocery in Hemingway, said agency spokeswoman Carrie Cuthebertson.

Deputies responded to the store at 4230 Old Pee Dee Road about 3:30 a.m. after an alarm company alerted the victim about a break-in, Cuthbertson said.

The victim said he saw a small green car with a paper tag from Johnson Auto Sales fleeing the scene.

Deputies found the glass front door broken and spotted three suspects rummaging through shelves and coolers on store surveillance cameras.
