A Wampee area woman died Monday night after a shooting, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

Ladejia Hill, 21, died from trauma received from a gunshot wound about 10 p.m. Monday night, said Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.

Fowler said she died at the scene and called her death a homicide.

Police responded to the 1800 block of Live Oak Road in Longs about 10 p.m. Monday for a reported shooting and found Hill, according to an incident report. The door of the home where Hill was found was open, but police did not find anyone inside.

The report mentions a second victim, a 22-year-old man, but details of his injuries or what caused them were not available.

Lt. Robert Kegler said detectives with the major crimes division are investigating and working to identify suspects in Hill’s death.
