A 26-year-old Myrtle Beach man was charged with attempted murder after officers learned a 50-year-old man was cut in his head and arm with a sword early Thursday, according to authorities.

Anthony Shi Felder, 26, of Myrtle Beach was charged with attempted murder and was being held at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Myrtle Beach Jail pending a bond hearing, according to jail records.

Officers were called at 2:30 a.m. Thursday to 1405 S. Kings Highway for an assault and found the victim covered in blood in front of a store at the location, according to a police report. Officers reported seeing Felder walking away from the area.

The officer, who rendered first aid to the victim, reported that the victim had a deep cut to his arm and a cut to his head and said Felder hit him with a sword, according to the report. The officer noted the cut to the victim’s arm was “so deep that his arm felt like it was broken.”

Officers followed a trail of blood along 14th Avenue South to Yaupon Drive to find where the victim was attacked, according to the report. Officers found video surveillance that showed Felder walking out of an apartment and then several minutes later he walked back carrying a long knife.

Officers searched 1300 Yaupon Drive, San Marcus Villas, and found several knives on top of a refrigerator in the kitchen of an apartment there, according to the report. Felder was taken into custody without incident.
