Horry County Schools has selected its five finalists for this year’s Support Staff Employee of the Year award.

The finalists are Victoria Sylvia, secretary at Black Water Middle School; Marcus Bennett, custodian supervisor at Loris Elementary School; Doris Bessent, secretary at North Myrtle Beach High School; Melody Adams, data quality clerk at Socastee Elementary School; and Wynnette Smith, secretary at St. James High School.

The award program recognizes outstanding achievement by an employee of the HCS regular support staff. Personal interviews will be held with each finalist to determine the winner, who will be announced April 7. A reception will be held that afternoon at the district office, and nominees will be recognized at that night’s Horry County school board meeting.
