Georgetown man arrested on robbery, kidnapping charges

A Georgetown man was arrested Monday on charges related to a February 6 robbery and kidnapping where the victim was held at knifepoint and ordered to drive around the city, according to authorities.Jimmy Cagle, 39 was charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and robbery while armed with a deadly weapon after someone alerted Georgetown County Sheriff deputies to his location at a home on Dove Street in the Sampit community, according to Carrie Cuthbertson with the sheriff’s office.

Cagle is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

Cagle also faces three third-degree assault and battery warrants in unrelated cases.

Deputies filed the charges after learning that about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 6, a victim, whose age was not released, reported being held at knifepoint while being robbed of his wallet. The victim also told police Cagle demanded he drive around to various locations in Georgetown before Cagle fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim was not hurt.
