A woman remained hospitalized Friday morning after she was struck by a vehicle the night before on Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, according to authorities.

Details about the woman, her identity and the driver of the vehicle were not immediately available Friday.

Myrtle Beach police Capt. David Knipes said officers were called about 9:30 p.m. Thursday to the area of Eighth Avenue South and Kings Highway for a woman being struck by a pickup truck. The woman, whose condition was not available, suffered major injuries and was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment. She was in the intensive care unit Thursday night.

Officers were investigating the crash, but said it initially appeared the woman walked out in front of the truck that was going south on Kings Highway, police said.

No more details were available, but more information will be posted as it is released.
