Man reports being assaulted while walking his dog in Myrtle Beach

A 41-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police that he was cut on his arm with a knife by a man who tried to rob him while he walked his dog late Sunday, according to a police report.

The victim told officers that about 10:30 p.m. Sunday the victim was walking and talking to his dog in the area of 204 N. Kings Highway, police said.

The victim said the robber walked up to him, asked for a cigarette and when the victim said he didn't have one, the robber asked for the victim's wallet, according to the report. The victim refused and the robber pulled out a knife and cut the victim on his arm.

The victim said the robber then ran east toward Flagg and Chester streets, according to the report. The victim returned to his room, got a towel and went to the office to speak to the manager.

Officers noted a deep cut on the victim's arm and EMS took the victim to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment. No other information was listed in the report.
