Severe weather headed toward the Grand Strand Friday

There’s a chance of severe thunderstorms throughout most of Friday along the Grand Strand.

The National Weather Service said the Grand Strand and part of south eastern North Carolina can expect strong to severe thunderstorms Friday afternoon. High temperatures are expected to be in the low 70s. Forecasters are calling for at least one-tenth inch of new rain.

Friday night’s low will be around 45.
