Myrtle Beach police look for bank robbery suspect

Myrtle Beach police are looking for a man accused of robbing a bank in the city Wednesday morning.

Police were called about 11:30 a.m. for a bank robbery at the Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union on 21st Avenue North.

The man showed the 24-year-old teller a manilla folder with a note inside demading $30,000 and told her not to press any buttons or notify anyone, according to an incident report.

Surveillance footage showed a car police beleived the man was driving was parked outside for 15 to 20 minutes before the man entered the bank, but the vehicle couldn’t be seen clearly.

Officers are looking for the man described about 5’5” weighing between 190 to 200 pounds with a goatee. Police believe the man is in his 40s. Anyone with information about the man or the robbery can call Myrtle Beach police at 918-1382.
