Horry County Schools streamlines website’s homepage

Horry County Schools is launching a redesigned homepage for its website Tuesday that will streamline all the information parents need to know. The district’s website is www.horrycountyschools.net.

“The homepage tends to get really full with a lot of information,” said Ben Coy, HCS communication specialist. “We want to pare down so the information we want to present doesn’t get lost, and people can find the information they want as easily as possible.”

The homepage will feature a box design, and while the location of pages will be the same, Coy said there will be more structure and more helpful links. The navigation bar will be the same except for one addition, “The Newsroom,” which will go to items such as news stories and district updates.

All the pages will match in color and graphics, and members from each department have been helping with information updates, Coy said. While the redesign debuts Tuesday, he said it still will take some time to ensure that all the links and graphic changes for the entire site are responding correctly.
