A late Friday fire on a conveyor belt that moves wood chips and bark in the International Paper mill in Georgetown is still under investigation.

Firefighters were called to the plant around 11 p.m. Friday.

Kim Clewis, communications manager for International Paper, said the company was still looking into the blaze late Saturday.

“We don’t have additional information to share,” she said.

Firefighters were at the plant for more than three hours late Friday and early Saturday.

No one was injured and no one evacuated the plant, she said.
