Myrtle Beach police search for suspect in early morning shooting, robbery

Myrtle Beach police issued a be on the lookout for a 27-year-old man wanted on charges from a shooting that occurred early Friday in the city, according to authorities.

Akeem Maurice Hamilton, 27, is wanted on charges of first-degree burglary, armed robbery and attempted armed robbery in connection with an incident that occurred at 406 Eighth Ave. S., early Friday, Myrtle Beach police Capt. David Knipes said.

Hamilton was possibly driving a dark green Ford Explorer with a South Carolina license tag of IHB372, police said. He does not live at the house where the vehicle is registered and officers said he has several non-working phone numbers.

Officers were urged to use caution and residents should not approach Hamilton or try to apprend him, but instead call police, according to the BOLO report. Hamilton also is a known gang member.
