Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday evening in Bucksport, S.C. Highway Patrol officers said.

Horry County deputy coroner Tony D. Kendrick said Jacklyn Marie Cohen, 18, of Conway and Ryan Marsh, 22, of Little River died from multiple blunt force injuries caused by the crash.

At around 5:20 p.m. Saturday, a Chevrolet pickup truck with four people inside heading west on Bucksport Road failed to stop at the sign at the intersection of Highway 701, Cpl. Sonny Collins said.

The truck hit a Ford sedan that was traveling south on Highway 701 with three people inside, killing Cohen and Marsh on the scene.

Collins said emergency crews took all four occupants in the Chevrolet and one occupant from the Ford to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment.

It was unknown if the occupants of the vehicles were wearing seatbelts, Collin said.

The incident is being investigated.
