All lanes on U.S. 17 bypass were closed Sunday night around 9 p.m. as the Horry County Fire Department assisted the S.C. Department of Transportation after a crash damaged a light pole, fire officials said.

All seven lanes of U.S. 17 near Coventry Boulevard were closed while the SCDOT worked to repair the light.

“DOT said [lanes] will be down for 45 minutes to an hour,” fire spokesman Brian VanAernem said.
