One woman died early Sunday morning in a head-on collision in Longs, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Police said the driver of a Toyota sedan was traveling east on S.C. Highway 90 about 6:10 a.m. Sunday when it crossed into the westbound lane and hit a Chevrolet Cruz that was heading west.
The driver of the Cruz died at the scene, police said. She was 27 years old, said Horry County chief deputy coroner Tamara Willard. Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Toyota was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center on Sunday. Both women were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation.
