Much of the area was under a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:30 p.m. Saturday, which, the service said, was capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.

The weather service asks residents report hail, downed trees or damaging winds to their Wilmington office at 800-697-3901.
