A 58-year-old Myrtle Beach man told police he was robbed and shot by an armed man in his front yard Tuesday afternoon, according to a police report.
The victim told officers he was at his truck about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of Myrtle Street, and when he turned around he was confronted by the suspect, police said.
The victim said the robber demanded money and when the victim refused, the suspect fired a shot into the ground, according to the report. The victim said he took some cash and threw it to the ground and started to walk away.
The victim said the robber put the gun away, picked up the money and then demanded more, according to the report. The victim said the robber then told him he was going to count to 10 and then shoot the victim in the head.
The victim said he refused and the robber then fired a second gunshot that hit him in the leg, according to the report. The victim said he tried to stop a passing vehicle and the suspect ran south on Maple Street.
The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment to the wound in his left calf, according to the report. Detectives are investigating the incident and no other details were listed in the report.
