A 36-year-old man called Myrtle Beach police early New Year’s Day to report items stolen from his hotel room, according to an incident report.

A Sony Playstation 3, nine games and a laptop were missing from the room when the man returned from a New Year’s Eve celebration about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, the report said.

Police found no evidence of a forced entry and did not find any evidence to process. The man told police he has had some trouble with the electronic lock malfunctioning and opening randomly, the report said.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage from the hotel.
