Conway police charge man in sexual assault of woman

— Conway police charged a 44-year-old man in connection with a woman being sexually assaulted as she walked through a wooded area Friday morning, according to officials.

James Junior Felder, 44, of Conway was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 2:05 p.m. Friday on a charge of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to jail records. Felder remained there on $50,000 bond at 11 a.m. Monday.

The assault was reported to Conway police at 11:30 a.m. Friday where the victim, a woman whose age was not included in the report, was hysterically crying, according to the report. The victim said she was walking through a wooded area near Cottage Lane, stopped in the woods and sat down for a brief time.

The victim said Felder walked up and assaulted her, according to the report. Officers took Felder into custody from the wooded area where the woman said the assault occurred and she identified him as her attacker.
