Students at three Myrtle Beach-area elementary schools will have new principals next fall, according to Teal Harding, spokeswoman for Horry County Schools.

Principals June Moorhead of River Oaks Elementary, Mary Beth Heath of St. James Elementary and Donna Hooks of Burgess Elementary will retire at the end of this school year, Harding said. Their positions have been posted on the district’s website, www.horrycountyschools.net, and new principals will fill those spots beginning July 1.

These openings follow the announcement of Angela Huggins as new principal of Conway’s Pee Dee Elementary School. Principal Cheryl Banks will retire at the end of December, and Huggins, who is assistant principal and curriculum coach at Forestbrook Elementary School, will begin her new job Jan. 6.
