Crash closes southbound lane of U.S. 17 Bypass near Palmetto Point outside of Myrtle Beach

jrodriguez@thesunnews.comDecember 19, 2013

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a non-injury vehicle crash on U.S. 17 Bypass near Palmetto Point at about 6:30 p.m., which has reportedly closed the southbound lane on U.S. 17 Bypass.

The area is already congested because of its proximity to the back gate, or U.S. 17 Bypass and S.C. 707. Major work has been ongoing in the area to install 130 girders and build an overpass for motorists at the intersection aimed at alleviating the tens of thousands of cars that travel there.

Police are reporting no injuries in the crash.
