Online maps show changes to Loris, North Myrtle Beach school attendance lines

vgrooms@thesunnews.comDecember 18, 2013

— Parents in Horry County Schools’ Loris and North Myrtle Beach attendance areas can access maps from the district’s website, www.horrycountyschools.net, that show changes approved by the Horry County school board Monday night that will take effect in the 2014-15 school year.

Links are provided for downloading the maps onto digital devices for optimum viewing.

The board unanimously voted to establish new attendance lines that will affect Daisy, Kingston and Loris elementary schools. The new boundaries are more logical for the Loris area and will shift the students at Kingston who move on to Loris middle and high schools to either Daisy or Loris Elementary.

The board also voted to convert North Myrtle Beach Primary (pre-kindergarten through first grade), Elementary (grades two and three) and Intermediate (grades four and five) schools into three pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade schools.

For questions or concerns about the new boundaries, contact Joe Burch, HCS planning coordinator, at 488-6712 or jburch@horrycountyschools.net.
