A Conway man turned himself into police Friday morning on charges related to a club shooting in Bucksport, authorities said.

Tommy Nguyen, 24, of Conway is charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The charges stem from Dec. 7 when police found a man laying on his back outside a club after responding to a shooting on the 900 block of Bucksport Road.

A 43-year-old Conway man had been shot in the right leg above his knee and had a white towel tied around the wound, the report said.

A DJ at the club told police he didn’t hear a gunshot because of the music, but said an unknown person entered the club and asked to use the phone to call police.

A 40 caliber bullet casing was found on the ground near where the victim was found.

A motive for the shooting was not identified.
