Chris Sansbury

Several people were less than honest with Conway Realtor Chris Sansbury to get him to Friday’s meeting of the Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors, where he was named Realtor of the Year.

One of them, Coastal Carolinas CEO Laura Crowther, told him that his mother-in-law Nancy Lee would be getting an award. Lee and Sansbury are co-owners of Century 21 McAlpine Associates.

“I’ll have to think of a payback for her,” Sansbury said, laughing, of Crowther’s deceit.

Sansbury is a director of the association and said that community service is a big part of the yearly award.

A Clemson grad, Sansbury is a recreation league youth soccer and baseball coach and a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Conway. He and his wife are parents of 10-year-old triplets.

He holds professional designations of the Graduate Realtor Institute and as a Certified Residential Specialist.

He has been with McAlpine since 2001.
