Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is participating in the 13th Annual Shop with Santa program that benefits children across the county, said agency spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson.

On Saturday, 40 deputies will go shopping with 36 children selected by school guidance counselors based on social need, grades and behavior, Cuthbertson said.

The day starts with breakfast and entertainment provided by the Wal-Mart in Georgetown. The children will receive $100 gift cards, donated by Dead Dog Saloon, and will then go shopping with the deputies for Christmas gifts.

The d ay ends with a lunch hosted by the Chick-fil-A of Murrells Inlet at the Sheriff’s office while volunteers from the Primera Emmanuel Church of Georgetown wrap the children’s gifts.
