Myrtle Beach police investigate robbery

— A 57-year-old man told Myrtle Beach police that two men robbed him after they asked for a cigarette, according to a police report.

The victim told officers that about 12:05 a.m. Tuesday he was sitting in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Mr. Joe White Avenue when two men walked up and asked for a cigarette, police said.

The victim said as he pulled them out of his pocket, the men pointed a gun at him and demanded his money, according to the report. The victim said the men took $160 and they ran down Osceola Street.

While talking with detectives, the victim said he did not want the police involved, according to the report.
