MYRTLE BEACH Left turns won’t be allowed overnight at the back gate intersection next week with construction closing the intersection.

Steel girders for the southbound bridge over the S.C. 707 intersection on U.S. 17 will be installed Dec. 18. and Dec. 19 between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. If needed, work and lane closures will continue Thursday.

Horry County spokeswoman Lisa Bourcier said drivers will be able to drive north and south, but will not be able to make any left turns.

Drivers on S.C. 707 of Farrow Parkway will not be able to travel through the intersection and can only make right turns.

Drivers wanting to travel east on Farrow Parkway from southbound U.S. 17 or S.C. 707 can be detoured to the U.S. 17 and S.C. 544 interchange.

The Fantasy Harbour and U.S. 17 interchange is recommended for drivers wanting to go west on S.C. 707 from U.S. 17 or Farrow Parkway.

A date has not been set for a similar closure to install the steel girders for the north bound bridge.
