MYRTLE BEACH — Parents of Horry County Schools middle school students will get permission forms at the end of next week so that their children can participate in the district’s iPad rollout that begins in January. The rollout is part of the district’s Personalized Digital Learning initiative, which will put a digital device in each student’s hands over the next three years.
Parents will be notified about the two separate forms that must be signed and returned to their school by Dec. 18, said Teal Harding, HCS spokeswoman. One form authorizes the issuance of the device, and the other authorizes the district to sent up the necessary online accounts, she said.
The rollout will begin the first week students are back from the holiday break, Harding said. The schedule is: Jan. 6, Myrtle Beach Middle School; Jan. 7, Loris Middle School; Jan. 9, Conway Middle School; Jan. 10, St. James Middle School; Jan. 13-14, Forestbrook Middle School; Jan. 15, North Myrtle Beach Middle School; Jan. 21, Black Water Middle School; Jan. 22, Aynor Middle School; Jan. 23, Ocean Bay Middle School; and Jan. 27, Green Sea Floyds Middle School.
