A motorcyclist died Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash, said Horry County Coroner Robert Edge.

The wreck was reported to the S.C. Highway Patrol about 3:15 p.m., according to the agency’s website.

Terell Thomas, 28, of Little River died from a head injury sustained in the crash, Edge said.

Bob Beres, with highway patrol, said Thomas was not wearing a helmet while driving his motorcycle on Lincoln Heights Road when he ran off the road and struck a tree near the intersection with Pinewood Circle.

Lincoln Heights Road is off S.C. 90 and close to North Myrtle Beach High School.
