Donate ‘Coats for Kids’ through Tuesday in Myrtle Beach

— Donations of new and gently-used outerwear and blankets continues through Tuesday for the Coast RTA’s eighth annual Coats for Kids Campaign, culminating in a distribution event Saturday in Myrtle Beach.

Items collected throughout the past month in Myrtle Beach and Conway will be distributed to those in need on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the banquet hall at Canal Street Recreation Center, 901 Canal St.

There are five locations in Myrtle Beach to drop off coats, jackets, sweaters, gloves, hats and blankets.

Collection boxes are available at:

City Hall, 937 Broadway St.

City Services Building, 921 Oak St.

Chapin Memorial Library, 400 14th Ave. N.

Ted C. Collins Law Enforcement Center, 1001 N. Oak St.

Law Enforcement Center Annex, 3340 Mustang Ave.

Locations are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Chapin Memorial Library, which opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. on Monday and 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Coats also can be dropped off at several other locations throughout Horry County, including Carolina Forest Library, Conway City Hall and Conway National Bank locations in both Myrtle Beach and Conway.
