Byrd, Diaz remain well-positioned in Second Stage of Q-School

Zack Byrd of Murrells Inlet and Roberto Diaz of Myrtle Beach remained in position Wednesday to advance through their Second Stage sites of the Tour Qualifying Tournament.

Byrd shot a 3-under 69 in the second round and remains tied for fourth at 8-under 136 at Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Fla., while Diaz shot an even-par 72 to drop from a tie for third into a tie for 11th at 4-under 140 at Shell Landing Golf Club in Gautier, Miss.

Byrd has yet to record a bogey this week and has recorded eight birdies. Diaz had three birdies and three bogeys Wednesday and recovered from a pair of bogeys in his opening five holes.

The top 19 and ties from each site after Friday’s fourth rounds will advance to the Final Stage of the Tour Q-School, being played Dec 12-17 at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif.
