Fire crews battle blaze at Murrells Inlet home

— Crews with Midway Fire Rescue are battling a house fire located off Wachesaw Road, according to authorities.

Firefighters were called about 10 a.m. Wednesday to 4478 Richmond Hill Drive, which is located off Riverwood Drive, for a blaze inside a two-story brick home, according to Midway Fire Rescue officials. Crews reported they found heavy smoke coming from the house and are working to extinguish it.

Fire crews called for support from Surfside Beach and the Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire district.

At 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, crews reported heavy fire was through the roof of the home and caused the roof over the garage area to collapse.

Additional information about the blaze was not immediately available.
