— A Conway High School teacher was arrested Tuesday and is on administrative leave from Horry County Schools, according to the school district.

Courtney Ruth Martin, 26, of Aynor was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor Tuesday and taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center. Bail was $5,000, and she was released the same day, according to the center’s website.

Conway Police Lt. Selena Small said a police investigation determined Martin engaged in inappropriate behavior with a student while employed as a teacher between Aug. 23, 2012 and Oct. 29, 2013.

Martin is an English teacher at Conway High School and was placed on leave from the school district Oct. 29, said Teal Harding, HCS spokeswoman, adding the district’s investigation remains open.

According to an incident report, police received an anonymous tip through the Horry County Schools tip line about the alleged inappropriate behavior.

Martin and the student, listed as a 10th grader, planned to have sex, the report said. Martin is also accused of sending photos of body parts, including her breasts, to the student, police.

The student told police he and Martin were involved in a relationship, and said it ended when he texted her to tell her police had questioned him about their involvement, the report said.

He also said met Martin in her classroom during his lunch or after school and said they would “hug, kiss and talk about their relationship,” according to the report.
