MYRTLE BEACH — Grand Strand Regional Medical Center will open an Advanced Wound Center Wednesday at the South Strand Medical Center, according to information from the hospital.
The new center is for the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds – a wound that has either not healed after eight weeks or has not improved after four weeks.
A body’s natural healing process may be hampered by poor blood circulation, diabetes or other causes, and the center aims to treat the causes as well as the wounds.
Patients may call the center directly at 839-6000 or be referred by a physician.
The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
