A Carolina Shores, N.C., man died Tuesday afternoon after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a crash, according to authorities.
Warren Pienack, 91, of Carolina Shores died from cardiac arrest induced by blunt force trauma that he suffered in the crash, Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick said Wednesday morning. Pienack died while being treated at McLeod Hospital-Seacoast in Little River.
Cpl. Sonny Collins with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 3 p.m. near the intersection of S.C. 9 and S.C. 31.
Collins said Pienack drove a 1999 Chevy Malibu out of the driveway of the Wilco Station and was struck by a pickup truck.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured and does not face any charges, Collins said.
