A 26-year-old Myrtle Beach woman was arrested Friday night for reportedly taking a man’s car and stabbing him repeatedly and charged with attempted murder, grand larceny, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Gayle Halee Gieger remained in the Myrtle Beach Jail Saturday night, and was being held without bond.

At about 10:30 p.m. Friday, Myrtle Beach Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Columbia Drive in response to an assault and stolen vehicle, according to a police report.

Officers said the front door was open and there was blood on the door and floor, the report stated. The victim, a 68-year-old man, was down the road and eventually taken to Grand Strand Medical Center by ambulance, according to the report. As police processed the scene, Horry County officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle in the 100 block of Countryside Drive.

A witness told police he found the victim yelling for help and the man said he had been stabbed several times.

A status on the victim’s condition was not available Saturday night.
