A Conway woman was charged in connection with three children being left alone at home while she was jailed, according to a police report.

Robin Michelle Kearns, 35, of Conway remained jailed at 6 a.m. Wednesday on charges of unlawful neglect of a child, four counts of contempt of family court by an adult and nine counts of fraudulent check under $500, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center records. She is being held on $5,000 bond n the neglect charge, $100 on the check charges and bond was not set on the contempt charge.

Conway police charged Kearns with neglect after another woman went to the office of Department of Social Services to report that on Oct. 14 Kearns went to jail and left a 14-year-old in charge of caring for two children ages 11 and 6. The report showed there was no power hooked up to the home and the 14-year-old would illegally hook it up at night then disconnect it during the day.

The children were placed with a family member and the incident is under investigation by DSS officials.
