More than 3,200 customers will experience power outages for several days in the Shell community of Horry County according to Horry Electric Cooperative.
The outages are due to a project that will allow higher operating voltage in that part of the system and is expected to take 6 days starting Tuesday said Mitchell Benton, distribution engineer for the electric company.
Not all customers will be affected at the same time, or every day of the project, Benton said.
“We’ve organized the job by line sections and will do one section one day and then another section the next day,” he said. “Members will be advised what days to expect to be affected and for how long.”
Outages could last as long as five hours.
