MYRTLE BEACH — Parents who want their child’s name withheld from a list for military recruiters have until Oct. 30 to notify Horry County Schools, according to a news release from the district. Military recruiters are entitled to receive the names, addresses and telephone numbers of high school juniors and seniors under the No Child Left Behind Act and the National Defense Authorization Act.
A written request must be made to have your child’s name withdrawn from the recruiters’ list, which will be released on or about Nov. 1. Parents may use an online form that can be found on the district’s website, www.horrycountyschools.net, or on each high school’s homepage. Requests also may be faxed to 843-488-6779 or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Requests will be in force for one year and must be resubmitted annually.
