MYRTLE BEACH — Myrtle Beach police charged a juvenile Thursday afternoon after an officer found he was carrying a gun, according to a police report.
The juvenile was taken into custody and issued a juvenile summons after the officer was dispatched at 3:30 p.m. Thursday to Greens Boulevard and Osceola Street for a person carrying a gun, police said.
The officer found the juvenile sitting in a gazebo and approached him, according to the report. The officer asked the juvenile if he had any weapons and the juvenile told the officer he had a gun.
The officer detained him and found a handgun in his pants waistband, according to the report. The gun was taken as evidence and the juvenile was cited with unlawful possession of a weapon as a juvenile.
