The Keep North Myrtle Beach Beautiful Commission is holding an annual citywide cleanup day Nov. 2 allowing residents to get rid of hazardous waste or bulky items.
Residents can dispose of unwanted appliances, furniture, paint, pesticides, chemicals, oil, old tires and other similar household trash. Construction debris or medical waste will not be accepted.
The items will not be picked up, but residents can drop them off between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nov 2 at the North Myrtle Beach Sanitation Department Transfer Station on Second Avenue South.
Furniture and appliances that are still usable may be donated to the Salvation Army, Goodwill Industries or local churches.
The city provides a special collection service for furniture, appliances and other bulky items. Items can be left for curbside pickup, after calling the Sanitation Division at 280-5500.
To volunteer with the cleanup, call Gregg Barnhill at 280-5673.
