MYRTLE BEACH — A 56-year-old woman’s Honda Accord was deemed a loss and officials suspect someone set it on fire, according to a police report.
Officers were called at 11:55 p.m. Wednesday to 210 39th Ave. N., for a vehicle fire, police said. The 1998 Honda Accord was engulfed in flames and firefighters extinguished the blaze.
The victim told police she leaves the vehicle unlocked because of prior incidents and does not leave any valuables inside, according to the report. The victim said it is the second time in six weeks her car has been on fire, but the first fire was ruled mechanical by fire investigators.
Investigators noted the latest fire appeared to be arson, according to the report. There was severe damage throughout the vehicle. The victim said she does not know of anyone who would want to harm her or her property.
