MYRTLE BEACH — A Myrtle Beach woman was charged Sunday in connection with a fight involving a 15-year-old girl, according to authorities.
Jennifer Christianne Figueroa, 35, was booked into J. Reuben Long Detention Center at 1:23 a.m. Sunday and charged with cruelty to children, according to jail records. She is being held pending a bond hearing.
Officers were called about 12:15 a.m. Sunday to a home on Bear Lane for a child abuse complaint, according to an Horry County police report. The victim and a 45-year-old man told police that Figueroa arrived home from drinking with a friend and went into the teen’s room to get a laptop being used by the victim.
Figueroa argued with the teen, who punched the refrigerator, according to the report. The teen said Figueroa confronted her, slapped her on the face and they begin to fight.
The victim said Figueroa tried to choke her. The teen was screaming so Figueroa put her fingers at the victim’s mouth and the victim bit her, according to the report. Officers took Figueroa into custody.
