Weeks’ husband, Thomas Weeks III, 43, died Friday as a result of the crash that involved a motorcycle the Weeks were on and an SUV on U.S. 17 Bypass near Seaboard Commons shopping center. The crash sent two other people to the hospital, according to Myrtle Beach Police, but their conditions were unknown Saturday.

The wreck occurred about 2 p.m. and cause the highway to be shut down for hours in both directions between the shopping center which houses a Target, Lowes and Planet Fitness and 21st Avenue North.

The motorcycle was headed north on the Bypass when the driver apparently lost control and ended up in the southbound lane where a collision with the SUV occurred, according to Myrtle Beach Police Capt. David Knipes.
