A Pawleys Island man was arrested in connection with burglaries in Georgetown County, said Carrie Cuthbertson, spokeswoman for the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said Monday that Eric Wade Sanders, 22, was wanted on two outstanding warrants for second-degree burglary. The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Intensified Criminal Enforcement team arrested Sanders about 11 p.m. Monday, Cuthbertson said Tuesday morning.

Police saw Sanders through a window in a home on Chapel Creek Road in Pawleys Island and the homeowner told them Sanders had locked himself inside an upstairs bathroom, Cuthbertson said. Sanders was taken into custody without incident and deputies found 12 bindles of a brown powder substance and seven white pills along with some drug paraphernalia.

Additional charges are pending, but details about the burglary charges were not immediately available.

Sanders is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
