Man dies Sunday morning after truck hits tree on SC 57

— A North Carolina man died in a crash early Sunday morning as he traveled on Secondary Highway 57 in Horry County, officials said.

Timothy Bellamy, 43, of Supply, N.C., died in the crash that happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday, Horry County Coroner Robert Edge said.

The crash occurred at about 2:50 a.m. Sunday when Bellamy was traveling north on S.C. 57 in a Chevrolet Tahoe and veered off the right side of the road, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol. Bellamy, who troopers said was not wearing a seatbelt, hit a tree and was ejected was from Tahoe.

Police still are investigating.
