MYRTLE BEACH — A Myrtle Beach woman was charged in connection with the stabbing of her 42-year-old husband at an Ocean Boulevard motel Monday evening, according to authorities.
Catherine Shannon Boineau, 41, of Myrtle Beach was charged Tuesday with attempted murder in the incident, according to an arrest report.
Officers were called about 7:30 p.m. Monday to the Wind Surfer Motel at 210 N. Ocean Blvd., and found a 42-year-old man had been stabbed, police said.
The victim was found on the ground in front of the motel lobby and there were three to four people around him, who told the officer the man had been stabbed, according to the report. EMS arrived and took the victim to a nearby hospital. His condition was not immediately known at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Police noted the man had been stabbed in the chest and appeared to have a cut to his arm, but the officer was unable to determine the severity of the injuries because of the amount of blood on the victim, according to the report.
Witnesses told police they saw the man come down from a room at the motel and ask for help because he had been stabbed, according to the report. Another witness told police that Boineau asked for help at a nearby store because she said she had stabbed the victim.
Witnesses told police they along with Boineau held a towel to the victim’s wounds until EMS arrived.
Police did not find a weapon on Boineau, according to the report. A fourth witness told police that the couple were intoxicated and in the kitchen arguing before the stabbing.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
