Fighter jets are expected in the skies over Myrtle Beach Tuesday.
The S.C. Air National Guard will conduct an air defense exercise Sept. 24 in the Myrtle Beach area, according to a news release.
A fighter jet will escort a single-engine aircraft belonging to the S.C. Civil Air Patrol between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The exercise is designed to ensure the rapid response capability with the SCANG’s Aerospace Control Alert mission.
